Cajun Shrimp and Sausage Jambalaya

Jambalaya goes a long way, and it feeds a lot of people! A staple in Louisiana cuisine, this dish combines southern flavors and ingredients making it more than a meal, it’s a beloved tradition.

 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of shrimp
  • 1 lb andouille sausage
  • 1 white onion
  • 1 bell pepper
  • Tbsp of minced garlic
  • 2 cans of dawn fresh mushroom steak sauce
  • 2 cups of rice
  • Cajun seasoning
  • Garlic and herb
  • Parsley
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Tbsp of chicken base
  • Green Onions

 

Directions:

Season your shrimp with cajun seasoning, chop up sausage. Brown sausage, once it’s brown, remove and add your bell pepper and onion- when they are tender throw in your garlic. Add 2 cans of dawn fresh, your protein, 2 cups of rice (uncooked), 32oz of water, shrimp- add remainder of seasonings listed. Add chicken base and when liquid comes toa boil go ahead and lower your fire, put lid on, let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes and top with green onions
